Funicolì (Via L. Bianchi 33) Pizza parlour outside the walls but off the tower. It does not fill with tourists and its prices are attractive. Delectable pizza and palate bending antipasti. Reservations (in particular at the weekends) are recommended and arriving early too as the place is small.

Babette (Lungarno Mediceo 15; tel. 050 9913302-3) Art cafe near the centre. With its one of a kind style created by art worshippers. Art and drinks join as it is possible to read and drink coffee, wine or hot chocolate or dine. Prices are payable. Thematic evenings and concerts are set up here from time to time.


Orzobruno (Via Case Dipinte 6-8, tel. 050 578802, open Sun-Thu 7pm-1am, Fri-Sat -02am) Homemade organic beer and food at reasonable prices.


Pisa Caffè dell'Ussero (Lungarno Pacinotti  27) with walls reminding guests of its most famed guests: the Risorgimento men who sat here when they were students. The meetings of the first Italian Congress of Scientists had its venue here in 1839.
